2021 Grants

Due to Covid-19, extraordinary grants were given to previous projects supported by the foundation.

* Pallisa Children’s Concern Project:

Objective: Empower vulnerable women and children in Budaka District, Uganda, by providing them with pregnant goats and the necessary training to manage them. The project aims to enhance household livelihoods through sustainable livestock farming, which will be self-supporting and environmentally friendly. By redistributing offspring to additional beneficiaries, the project seeks to maximize its reach, ultimately benefiting thousands of vulnerable households over time while promoting food security and capacity building within the community.

A total of USD 19,911.33 was allocated to this project to support 200 households with these efforts.

* MCODE:

Objective: Introduce sustainable energy solutions and Biosand Water Filter technology to a rural community in Buikwe district, Central Uganda. This aims to address energy challenges by providing a clean and efficient method for purifying water without the need for boiling, which reduces energy costs, prevents waterborne diseases, and ensures access to safe, potable water using environmentally friendly materials.

A total of USD 35.038,40 was given to this Biosand Water filter project to ensure clean water to 1000 low-income female-run households.

* Nashulai:

Objective: Expand the Nashulai Cultural Training Centre into a premier institution for hospitality management, eco-tourism, conservation, and cultural studies, with a focus on empowering Maasai youth with skills for employment and business opportunities. This expansion aims to improve the infrastructure, offer a wider range of courses, and strengthen partnerships with international institutions, ultimately contributing to poverty alleviation and community development in the region.

A total of USD 117.177 was given to 4 different projects.

  1. Completing 2 student hostels

  2. Building a dining hall and kitchen

  3. Newley acquired parcels of land

  4. Completing a community water project

In addition, USD 200.000 was given to fund land lease for another 4 years.
